On one hand we are trying to save Small Business with an income tax initiative while considering i-1082 that will raise rates for small business and employers.
I worked as an hourly employee for the Port of Seattle for over seventeen years. The Port has private insurance and from my experience they denied
or challanged every claim. At one time, a dedicated employee that I worked with had a claim for an injury that didn't include lost time, just
therapy. The insurance carrier not only denied the claim, they called me on the phone asking in a negative way about the employee and trying to get
me to acknowledge things about the employee that just weren't true.

Vote YES on Initiative 1098 If we want things like public education, basic health coverage, child vaccinations we need to pay for them. I-1098
will do that plus offer a balanced tax system that will reduce state property tax by 20%, increase small business tax credit to $4800.00, eliminate B&0 tax for most small businesses
and reduce state taxes for the rest. Here is how it works, according to YesOn1098.com. The wealthiest Washingtonians now pay less in state and local taxes than residents of 43 other states. The 3% who will pay this new tax will take adjusted gross income straight from their federal form and pay just 5% on their income over two hundred thousand
for an individual($400,000 for couples) and nine percent on income over five hundred thousand. For example, if household income is $500,000, the tax would be $5,000, or just 1% of gross income.

No on I-1053 Reinstates the two-thirds majority vote by the legislature to raise taxes and create new taxes. We need to oppose the bill that will reinstate the two-thirds majority vote by the legislatue to raise taxes and create new taxes. The initiative is backed by big oil, Conoco Phipllips, and
the Washington Bankers Association, imagine that. They will do anything to keep from paying their fair share to support the commons.
No on I-1100 & I-1105 Privatizes sales of hard liquor. As a community living in or near a high crime area we can appreciate the layout of the State Liquor Stores
where the operators can see wether minors are hanging around outside and take appropriate action. Would you expect WalMart, Costco or Target to care
what patrons do once outside their doors? As to costs to Small Business, another middle man will just increase the cost of doing business.
As to competition, can your small business compete with Sam's Club or Costco?
No to _I-1100 & I-1105.

One thing that lingers in my mind
Is what I used to be
It follows me around from time to time
my shadow that I see.
It's strange what might occur
when it is by my side
For it's then I know for sure
I truly cannot hide
from my shadow.
