Dan is an accomplished executive with decades of experience in business development, licensing and patents.

Dan Cosgrove joined Benson Hill in May 2024 as Chief Administrative Officer and General Counsel, overseeing day-to-day operations and legal matters. He is an accomplished agriculture industry executive with deep expertise in corporate development, licensing, venture and capital market transactions, and intellectual property. He was previously the Chief Executive Officer of Growers Edge, a company that offers crop plans, finance solutions, land valuation and proprietary software and data analytics tools to the agriculture industry. Prior to that, Dan held global leadership and business development roles at Corteva Agriscience. Early in his career, he practiced law with Zarley, McKee, Thomte, Voorhees & Sease, with a focus on patent litigation. Dan earned an MBA at the MIT Sloan School of Management, J.D. at Drake University, and a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering at Iowa State University. He also serves on various industry and philanthropic boards, including InnoVenture Iowa and the Iowa Innovation Council.
